WHAT DOES A PEND OREILLE DEMOCRAT STAND FOR?
WE BELIEVE:
... that every person has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These rights include access to the best education possible, health care, clean air, pure water, a safe food supply, and the ability to enjoy our natural environment.
... in an America that will not ask our children to shoulder the burden of an overwhelming national debt.
... that a strong America begins at home, with good jobs that support families.
... that our government must be fiscally sound, ethical, open, and accountable.
... in dignity and a voice for ALL people in an atmosphere of respect for diverse opinions.
... that our community should be safe.
... that our government should protect families and small businesses.
... that citizens should be able to make their own medical choices without interference from the government.
... in community service and active participation in local and national affairs.
... that nations must work together in cooperation, not confrontation.

Pend Oreille County Democrats
COUNTY-WIDE ALL PRECINCT CAUCUS

COME TO THE PARTY!
Do you want your opinions heard? Now's the time!
Local elections are this year, from fire commissioners to city officials. Every election year local caucuses are held so that Democrat voters can decide the direction they would like the Democrat party in Pend Oreille County and Washington state to take. Resolutions for discussion and possible inclusion in the state platform will be discussed and representatives will be chosen to go to the county and state conventions with the information gleaned at the caucuses.
The resolutions drafted each election cycle help us to define who we are and what we stand for. Resolutions can be about local, state or national matters, and include anything from wildlife husbandry to national health care, war in Afghanistan or global warming. Are we in favor or against gun control? Where do we stand on the hunting of wolves? What should be done about jobs and the economy? Now is the time to let our representatives know.
